The Spiral range is inspired by the spirals found in nature from seashells to galaxies. This form often appears in art, design and architecture as humans celebrate nature’s patterns - growth rings on trees, the curl of waves. The pieces speak to both cultural heritage and the universal language of nature’s shapes.
Conceived and handmade in the Durban, South Africa studio of Xavier Clarisse, each piece is crafted from quality, locally sourced, vegetable tanned leather manipulated in a distinctive way. Veg tanning is an ancient process where rawhide is tanned in tannins from natural plant matter. It is an incredibly durable, eco-friendly and beautiful leather. The dyes and finishing products used are internationally certified and free from harmful substances.
