Inspired by the patterns in African textiles and the symbolism of knots the Knot collection weaves together tradition and modern elegance. Each piece captures the essence of connection, unity and the timeless beauty of fine craftsmanship.

Conceived and handmade in the Durban, South Africa studio of Xavier Clarisse, each piece is crafted from quality, locally sourced, vegetable tanned leather manipulated in a distinctive way. Veg tanning is an ancient process where rawhide is tanned in tannins from natural plant matter. It is an incredibly durable, eco-friendly and beautiful leather. The dyes and finishing products used are internationally certified and free from harmful substances.

Like any quality item made from veg tanned leather your item will start out a bit stiff. Much like a pair of good shoes you need to break it in a little. This is actually one of the benefits of veg tanned leather - the breaking in process will create an item that is unique to you.
